From the early Native Americans through Georgia O'Keefe to the artists of today, Santa Fe is known worldwide for its unique style of Southwestern Art. While visiting us in Santa Fe, we certainly recommend you take an opportunity to visit any of 80 local art galleries or 10 museums, but as a guest of the Old Santa Fe Inn, why not also try something unique? Monday through Thursday, local artist Desiree Flerchinger will teach you how to make your own Santa Fe-style art in our unique Experience Santa Fe Art Workshop.
Classes are held between 10am and 4pm Monday through Thursday in Old Santa Fe Inn's own Sala de Villa room. Prices include all materials used in the workshop for your own unique Southwestern art creation. Desiree's one-of-a-kind creations will also be available for sale at the workshop. Jewelry Wire Wrapping
Most of us have picked up a pair of handmade earrings on vacation, but how many have experienced creating your own jewelry with a local artist? In this workshop you will choose your own beads and experience the pleasure of creating something unique for yourself, or as a special gift for that special someone. The skill of wire wrapping is essential for all jewelry artists. As you perfect this skill, your imagination and ideas for creating accessories are endless.

Keepsake Necklace
These priceless pieces of jewelry are one of kind. You can send your own image when you register below, or we can create one from the photos you take while visiting us in Santa Fe. Images of Ms. Flerchinger's work will also be available for your use.
In this workshop you will learn how to embellish your image in a unique Southwestern motif. Custom photos submitted will include a computer set up and processing fee and must be received 24 hours prior to your scheduled class time.
Single Sided: $40.00 - 1 hour class + drying time

Leather Cuff
This stylish leather cuff is a classic of Santa Fe. In addition to being beautiful, Native American beliefs say the animal spirit imbued in this art helps guide and protect us while the gift of the hide is a reminder to thank the spirit of the animal. In this workshop you will learn simple functional design while using leather and beads.

The Four Elements Totem
Indigenous people of this land have learned to communicate with and through the four elements. Fire, water, air and earth can help bring strength, knowledge and protection. This element totem will help you remember that you have the ability to call on the elements any time you need them. It also allows you to bestow your gratitude and respect to the power they provide.

Journey Rattle
Santa Fe is renown for the arts but also is widely known for its spirituality. The Journey Rattle is used to call upon ancestors and ancient ones for guidance. This workshop takes you through the magical process of creating your own spiritual Native American rattle. You can draw, paint and decorate your rattle or predesigned rattles may also be purchased if you would choose.
